With the festive season coming up I thought I’d share some tips about managing your appetite around all of those delicious foods
You guys know I love my random appetite suppression tips. This week I learned that heat exposure reduces appetite. But with many things that raise or increase something in the body, the body has a rebound effect when that feeling goes away. But this isn’t the case with heat exposure. Heat exposure (like a sauna, or a hot summer day) reduces appetite for a few hours. A few hours later it just goes back to normal. It doesn’t increase to compensate!
On that note, I realize I like experimenting and finding things that work best for my body. I’m thinking of starting a series like “I used the sauna every day and this happened”, or cold exposure, carnivore diet, vegan, etc. I think it would be a neat way to try out different things and I can give you all the science and my experience with this. What do you think? Any suggestions?
With all the holiday festivities coming up, I wanted to share some of my methods for not blowing my diet. Often, there are appetizers. Chips come to mind. You can eat chips whenever you want. Why snack on them? There’s the food during the holidays that you have once a year. Focus on those. Same story with actually getting dinner. Load your plate with veggies and protein first to truly feel satisfied before moving on. From there, get some of the dishes that you enjoy. If it’s something you can have essentially any day of the week, skip it. Same thing with dessert. Store-bought cookies are available at your grocery store every day of the week. Stick to some of the pies that you enjoy. Half slides are more than acceptable too. Stay hydrated, and be mindful of each bite. You’d be surprised how quickly you truly feel satisfied by just paying more attention to what you’re eating!
Thanks for taking the time to read through all of this. I’m sure you’ll be able to make a few of them work for yourself, let me know how it goes!
Do let me know of any topics you’d like to get my thoughts on.
Thanks as always,
