Let’s have a talk about some of my favorite cold weather habits, as well as some general holiday discourse as we head into the festive season
Imperfect action always trumps perfectionism. I have a friend starting a business, and they are waiting to have EVERYTHING perfect instead of just diving in and learning along the way. How did you learn to ride a bike? Was it researching how to do it? Planning the exact motions of your feet? No, you just did it and hoped you didn’t fall. Sometimes taking that step to be out of your comfort zone and just DOING something will teach you infinitely more than researching and fine tuning too many small details. 1% better daily is the goal!
As getting close to winter in the northern hemisphere, many of us live in cold climates where it’s hard to sustain the same level of activity in warmer months. And I can very much relate being in Chicago! Here are some ways to increase your activity level in the colder months (and warmer months too).
If you drive, park your car farther away from entrances. You have to walk in the cold anyway, so might as well add an extra 20 seconds to your walk.
Get some sort of exercise machine in your house! There are some exercise bikes on Amazon in the $200 range that get the job done and pay their dividends in health in the long term.
Go on short walks. I don’t wanna be out in the cold too long, so short bursts are still helpful. I like to do these after meals as it helps with digestion too.
Get some cheap, light exercise equipment at home. A set of REALLY GOOD bands cost less than $100, and resale sites always have some quality equipment on the low. Something is always better than nothing.

Next month is January, and you know what comes then. New Year’s resolutions! There was some study was done that shows people that start their “New Year’s resolutions” months earlier have way more success. It’s a big mindset thing. Make your changes lifelong, and not just short-term choices. So don’t wait a few weeks, start now! I am always happy to discuss your goals and methods to achieve success with you whether it’s fitness, health, business, or school so feel free to shoot me a message on Instagram!
Thanks for taking the time to read through all of this. I’m sure you’ll be able to make a few of them work for yourself, let me know how it goes!
Do let me know of any topics you’d like to get my thoughts on.
Thanks as always,
