It’s January 1st, 2023. Happy New Year!

As we welcome in the new year, many of us are setting new fitness goals and looking for ways to get healthy and stay active. To help get you started here are some tips for you to keep in mind as you embark on your wellness journey

Set specific, achievable goals. It’s important to have clear, specific goals in mind when it comes to your fitness journey. Whether you want to lose weight, run a marathon, get abs, or simply feel more energized, make sure your goals are achievable and realistic, and break them down into smaller, actionable steps.

Find an activity you enjoy. Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore. The more you enjoy the activity you’re doing, the more likely you are to stick with it. Experiment with different types of workouts and find something that resonates with you – whether it’s lifting weights, going for a run, or playing basketball.

Make it a habit. To make your fitness goals a sustainable part of your lifestyle, make your workout habits. Just like waking up in the morning and brushing your teeth, workouts should be something that you do automatically. Make a schedule and commit to it and find ways to include physical activity into your daily routine. Some examples are taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going on walks with a loved one, or parking farther away at the grocery store.

Find a workout buddy or accountability partner. Having someone to workout with can eliminate that initial scared feeling of starting something new. Find a friend or family member who shares similar goals, and use exercise as a way to bond and improve yourselves in the long term.

I hope these tips help you get started on your fitness journey and set you up for success in the new year, and remember to always listen to your body.
